My work stems from my interest in symbiotic relationships and the intersection of separation and protection. Most of my paintings depict ambiguous enclosures in which biomorphic and structural forms interact mutualistically within a fabricated environment. These forms often resemble walls, membranes, fences, and other barriers. However, I’m not actively attempting to depict anything from life; I’m more interested in the function that those forms are associated with, such as protecting, covering, or supporting the abstract characters around it.
